Age of Learning Supports ConnectHome Nation

In July 2015, Age of Learning joined the ConnectHome initiative, pledging to make ABCmouse available to families living in public housing in 27 cities and one tribal nation. We have since expanded this pledge by making ABCmouse available to all U.S. public housing authorities in their computer rooms.

As part of our commitment, we also provide webinars and training sessions for public housing staff and kits with printed materials including, flyers, posters, table tents, and monitor placards to inform families that ABCmouse is available.

Why We’re Involved in ConnectHome Nation

ConnectHome Nation participation marks another step in Age of Learning’s ongoing effort to make high-quality learning resources available to all children, regardless of their circumstances. Partnering with ConnectHome Nation helps us serve more children across the U.S. in need of these resources.

New ABCmouse Mastering Math Apps

Age of Learning launches ABCmouse Mastering Math app

ABCmouse Mastering Math App, from Age of Learning

Age of Learning recently launched our new ABCmouse Mastering Math app for iOS and ABCmouse Mastering Math app for Android devices.

The Mastering Math app offers a set of fun learning games that personalize to your child. This adaptive game-based app helps preschool and prekindergarten children build a strong understanding of the most fundamental math concepts: the numbers one to ten and the quantities for which they stand. Having that foundation is a key milestone of kindergarten readiness.

With engaging characters and scenarios, individualized learning pathways, and continuous assessment built into every level of every game, Mastering Math helps children achieve proficiency through practice that incorporates repetition and variation—both of which are educational methods important to successful learning.

Current ABCmouse members can use this app completely free just by logging in. If you are not yet a member, you can subscribe through this app to begin your family’s ABCmouse learning adventure.

The Mastering Math app offers:

• Fun characters and engaging scenarios

• Games that moderate difficulty based on your child’s abilities

• Game-based instruction for three math topics: number sequences, numeral recognition, and counting objects

The Mastering Math app contains NO third-party advertising and DOES NOT share any personally identifiable information about you or your child with third parties.

ABCmouse Customer Feedback for March 2017

As founder and CEO of Age of Learning, I’m thrilled to once again share some of the amazing feedback we received in March from families and teachers using our award-winning ABCmouse Early Learning Academy.

The teacher of my 5-year-old preschooler told that me she was behind the other students. I was upset but didn’t know what to do. The next morning … I purchased ABCmouse. It was the best decision I have made. She went back to school yesterday and her teacher sent me a picture of her holding a certificate for the most improved student and said she was like a different child!! I was so relieved, it made me cry!

—Mother of a 5-year-old girl

My students love ABCmouse! They are getting direct, differentiated instruction, and I can tailor lessons to skills they need to strengthen. I love it! I think it is great that it is free to teachers.

—1st and 2nd grade teacher in Philadelphia, PA

My daughter loves ABCmouse … she has learned so much!! Her teacher said she is the best in class. She also used to not really talk, but now she cannot stop talking about her friends after school!!!

—Mother of an 8-year-old girl in Lima, OH

This site is very helpful for children’s learning and development. I see positive results after consistent use of this site. Thanks for creating such an amazing platform for kids to learn while at home, after school, etc.

Teacher in Houston, TX

I have an 8-year-old autistic daughter. Her reading and math, as well as her overall social skills, have improved greatly from being on ABCmouse. To see her opening up and enjoying herself as she learns is such a blessing. Thank you.

I love ABCmouse!! It makes a fun educational change up to our homeschool schedule. My daughter loves the prizes and taking care of her pets after finishing each lesson.

ABCmouse Study Shows Kindergarten Readiness and Other Academic Gains

We were thrilled with the results of a two-year longitudinal study of the efficacy of ABCmouse. The study examined the academic impact of the integration of our ABCmouse Early Learning Academy into prekindergarten and kindergarten classrooms. An article about the study was recently published in the Journal of Applied Research on Children.

The study found that students who completed more ABCmouse learning activities during the prekindergarten year scored higher on an assessment of kindergarten readiness skills than those who completed fewer activities. Results also showed that ABCmouse contributed to accelerated gains in literacy and math across several assessments throughout the kindergarten year. ABCmouse also appeared to help students who entered kindergarten less prepared catch up to their peers. Increased usage correlated with positive academic outcomes: the more students used ABCmouse, the more likely they were to make gains in math and literacy skills.

3 Key Findings of the Study

  • Kindergarten readiness: Greater usage of ABCmouse (more learning activities completed) resulted in higher kindergarten readiness scores at the end of pre-k.
  • Accelerated learning in kindergarten: Regular ABCmouse usage in kindergarten helped to accelerate students’ learning gains in literacy and mathematics skills on multiple assessments.
  • Learning activities: The number of ABCmouse learning activities completed was a strong predictor of literacy and math outcomes at the end of kindergarten.

2 Billion Learning Activities on ABCmouse

ABCmouse - 2 billion learning activities

I’m pleased to announce a significant milestone for Age of Learning and our ABCmouse.com® Early Learning Academy: 2,000,000,000 ABCmouse learning activities have been completed by young children. Pretty amazing–two BILLION.

That’s an average of almost 200 learning activities each for the more than 10 million children who have enjoyed and learned from ABCmouse since it launched in November 2010.

I am also confident that these are more than just big numbers.

Research shows that the more ABCmouse learning activities children complete, the greater the educational impact. That’s because every learning activity is designed to achieve specific curriculum objectives that contribute to a strong academic foundation for every child.
