Mastering the Alphabet is the second mobile app built on our Personalized Mastery Learning System, which creates an individualized learning path for every child. This is our first mastery app for language and literacy, and the first to offer offline access.
Mastering the Alphabet adapts which letters are presented to a child by balancing what he or she already knows and needs to learn with practice. The game further personalizes the learning experience by prioritizing the letters of the child’s name and by allowing children to decorate their letter blocks with custom art. With each demonstration of letter mastery, these letter blocks are brought to life with delightful animations that set the stage for reading success!
This new app is the seventh in our Constellation app series, following ABCmouse Mathematics and Science animations. You can learn more about the first six apps by reading this blog post on AgeofLearning.com.
After skipping a month, I’m happy to resume posting a small selection of the messages we get each day at Age of Learning, sent from thankful parents, grandparents, and teachers who use ABCmouse at home and in the classroom.
I have a 5-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter, and they both love ABCmouse! It helps them to improve and expand their vocabulary, grammar, thinking skills, and math. ABCmouse makes learning fun and easy. Thank you! We’re looking forward for more exciting and challenging lessons or activities for our kids.
—“Supermom” of 5- and 6-year-old children in San Jose, CA
As a kindergarten teacher, I absolutely LOVE ABCmouse! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have so many students that have excelled because I offer it in my class, who otherwise wouldn’t have had the opportunity. ABCmouse is the BEST resource a primary teacher could ever use. You have the seal of approval from this kindergarten teacher/former Teacher of the Year/State Teacher of the Year Finalist.

I’ve had an ABCmouse.com account for about 6 years now. My granddaughter was only 18 months old when I started. Now she is in 2nd grade and her younger brother in kindergarten. They both play together from time to time. Both kids have gotten a great head start from ABCmouse. My 5-year-old grandson has been reading since age 3 due in large part to ABCmouse.
—Grandmother of 7-year-old girl and 5-year-old boy in Miami, FL
I love how I can review letters, sounds, math skills, and sight words with my students and can give them review lessons for home. Thank you so much for ABCmouse!
—Teacher using ABCmouse for 1,958 days in Peoria, IL
The students in my classes have always enjoyed using ABCmouse to help them learn sight words. I have also seen it help them acquire background knowledge about things they did not know about.

Great video! [Level 10, Activity 23848] I like that you are showing kids tricks for determining author’s purpose. I also like the keywords that you used in the video, including “opinion,“ “expressing feelings,“ etc.

ABCmouse provides activities that are very engaging! Students love reviewing academics as well as learning songs. I can find materials to reinforce what each of my special education students learn on a daily basis.
—Preschool teacher in Los Angeles, CA
I love ABCmouse and am so thankful. I work in SpEd and this is wonderful for my kids to help with phonics and reading, math … and they can just have fun. My students especially love the songs. Thank you. I use this at school and encourage parents to purchase this for home use.

ABCmouse is terrific! For my school, I have loaded 9 classes and linked them in various configurations! It’s easy for me as the administrator of the program and easy for students (K-2nd) to navigate! Great site!
—Kindergarten and 1st grade teacher in Spokane, WA
I absolutely love this site. I use it for enrichment with my ESL students and as a center for literacy and math. It is engaging, easy to navigate and one of the best programs that I’ve worked with so far.

Age of Learning is headquartered in Glendale, California, a vibrant part of the greater Los Angeles area. So we were happy to participate in the recent Glendale Tech Week, the second annual city-sponsored event that brings together top talent from tech companies in and around Glendale.
In a featured event of Tech Week, our SVP of Strategy Sunil Gunderia moderated a discussion that provided a fascinating look at how machine learning and big data are impacting millions of students around the world and creating new professional opportunities. Speakers included Age of Learning’s Director of Data Science and Learning Elizabeth Owen PhD, alongside Armen Toorian, Professor of Robotics and Engineering at Glendale Community College and Mechanical Engineer at Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
The speakers focused on three key themes: How digital learning resources expand access to education, how machine learning can help improve educational outcomes for K–12 students, and how understanding coding can improve students’ job prospects. Get discussion highlights on the Age of Learning blog …
