Age of Learning Launches New Mastering the Alphabet App

ABCmouse Mastering the Alphabet app - by Age of Learning

I’m pleased to announce that Age of Learning recently launched our new Mastering the Alphabet mobile app, which is now available to all ABCmouse members via the Apple App Store and on Google Play!

ABCmouse Mastering the Alphabet mobile app from Age of Learning, Inc.

Mastering the Alphabet is the second mobile app built on our Personalized Mastery Learning System, which creates an individualized learning path for every child. This is our first mastery app for language and literacy, and the first to offer offline access.

Mastering the Alphabet adapts which letters are presented to a child by balancing what he or she already knows and needs to learn with practice. The game further personalizes the learning experience by prioritizing the letters of the child’s name and by allowing children to decorate their letter blocks with custom art. With each demonstration of letter mastery, these letter blocks are brought to life with delightful animations that set the stage for reading success!

This new app is the seventh in our Constellation app series, following ABCmouse Mathematics and Science animations. You can learn more about the first six apps by reading this blog post on AgeofLearning.com.

Mastering the Alphabet is available to all ABCmouse subscribers at no additional charge; download the version that’s right for you at the Apple App Store or Google Play

ABCmouse has been amazing and extremely beneficial for my students. It has been a great tool that allows me to connect the class with the home life. It gives the parents that are not able to come to the school the chance to see and interact with lessons their child(ren) are doing. … It is exciting and engaging.

—Pre-k teacher in Austin, TX

I love ABCmouse. I have used it with my students and my grandchildren. They have all shown an increase in skills after a short time. The lessons aren’t too long or wordy and are very engaging.

—Grandmother and special education teacher in Savannah, GA

In building the student/class course structure, ABCmouse gives you options in modifying lesson plans and activities to assist students who need additional teaching to help reach their goals. The lessons continue to keep students engaged in the activities at a constant pace. The interface allows the instructor to visualize the progress of each student and adjust lesson objectives accordingly.

Age of Learning Supports ConnectHome Nation

In July 2015, Age of Learning joined the ConnectHome initiative, pledging to make ABCmouse available to families living in public housing in 27 cities and one tribal nation. We have since expanded this pledge by making ABCmouse available to all U.S. public housing authorities in their computer rooms.

As part of our commitment, we also provide webinars and training sessions for public housing staff and kits with printed materials including, flyers, posters, table tents, and monitor placards to inform families that ABCmouse is available.

Why We’re Involved in ConnectHome Nation

ConnectHome Nation participation marks another step in Age of Learning’s ongoing effort to make high-quality learning resources available to all children, regardless of their circumstances. Partnering with ConnectHome Nation helps us serve more children across the U.S. in need of these resources.

New Research Brief: ABCmouse Prevents Summer Slide for Rising First Graders

This study examined the impact of ABCmouse Early Learning Academy on summer learning loss (known as “summer slide”) in a diverse sample of 999 rising first graders.

Results showed that ABCmouse helped prevent summer slide in reading for students who regularly used ABCmouse for at least 70 minutes per week over the summer. Students who met this usage threshold demonstrated literacy gains equivalent to the benefits of one month of academic instruction, while children who scored below the median at the beginning of the study experienced even greater gains from using ABCmouse.

Age of Learning at Internapalooza

The Internapalooza is the largest gathering of Silicon Valley interns, young engineers, and STEM students in the world! The Age of Learning team was thrilled to be able to present the many exciting opportunities at our company to these talented young men and women, yesterday at ATT Park in San Francisco. And our very own SVP of Strategy and Innovation, Sunil Gunderia, was honored to deliver a keynote speech to the 5,000+ crowd.
