We were thrilled with the results of a two-year longitudinal study of the efficacy of ABCmouse. The study examined the academic impact of the integration of our ABCmouse Early Learning Academy into prekindergarten and kindergarten classrooms. An article about the study was recently published in the Journal of Applied Research on Children.
The study found that students who completed more ABCmouse learning activities during the prekindergarten year scored higher on an assessment of kindergarten readiness skills than those who completed fewer activities. Results also showed that ABCmouse contributed to accelerated gains in literacy and math across several assessments throughout the kindergarten year. ABCmouse also appeared to help students who entered kindergarten less prepared catch up to their peers. Increased usage correlated with positive academic outcomes: the more students used ABCmouse, the more likely they were to make gains in math and literacy skills.
3 Key Findings of the Study
- Kindergarten readiness: Greater usage of ABCmouse (more learning activities completed) resulted in higher kindergarten readiness scores at the end of pre-k.
- Accelerated learning in kindergarten: Regular ABCmouse usage in kindergarten helped to accelerate students’ learning gains in literacy and mathematics skills on multiple assessments.
- Learning activities: The number of ABCmouse learning activities completed was a strong predictor of literacy and math outcomes at the end of kindergarten.
Sr. Curriculum Advisor at Age of Learning Dr. Rebecca Palacios spoke today about kindergarten readiness on Good Day Austin (FOX-TV) to help parents understand what it means to be kindergarten ready. She also shared valuable kindergarten readiness tips and spoke about ABCmouse as an effective school readiness resource.
As I’ve done for the last few months, I’d like to share some recent feedback we’ve received from parents and teachers who have been using our ABCmouse Early Learning Academy at home or in the classroom.
My daughter started this at just 3 years old and has now completed kindergarten. She is testing a full year ahead of not only where they say she should be, but of her classmates as well. She loved ABCmouse.com, and I recommend it every chance I get. Thank you ABCmouse.com for helping me help my daughter.

This is an amazing site. The ABCmouse center is the preferred center for all of my students. At this center, the students are able to interact with each other: comparing, contrasting, coaching, and just having plain old fun with the program and its activities. The side effects are favorable—with significant spikes in learning gains in academic skills.

ABCmouse is the best thing we ever did for our granddaughter. She has been reading since she was 4 years old. Thank you so much ABCmouse. Your teaching tools make it fun for children to learn. I would recommend this for all children.
—Grandmother of a happy mouser since age 3
We love ABCmouse! Jaxon has been on ABCmouse for 4 years and has gotten so much from it. His teachers also use ABCmouse, so it makes it easy to hook up with the lesson plans they want him to work on.
—Parent using the ABCmouse app
My students love to work on the alphabet games, which have really helped them with letter sounds and sounds and recognition.
—Preschool and pre-k teacher with 861 days using ABCmouse
We are traveling all the time, so it’s hard for us to keep Ginny in pre-k class. ABCmouse gave us freedom of doing the lessons whenever and wherever we are.
—Mother of a 4-year-old girl
My daughter has been using this site for the past 2 years. She is now about to be 6, and I can honestly say ABCmouse has taught her skills that I didn’t think a child her age should know. The laughter from her learning is music to my ears. Thank you ABCmouse for making learning a happy place for our children!
—Mother of a 5-year-old girl
I love this site. My little one and I play it every day. My daughter who’s 9 always helps my little one. I’m so happy they made a website like this where my little one can learn! She starts dancing every time she hears the music.
