Parents and Teachers Praise ABCmouse

After skipping a month, I’m happy to resume posting a small selection of the messages we get each day at Age of Learning, sent from thankful parents, grandparents, and teachers who use ABCmouse at home and in the classroom.

I have a 5-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter, and they both love ABCmouse! It helps them to improve and expand their vocabulary, grammar, thinking skills, and math. ABCmouse makes learning fun and easy. Thank you! We’re looking forward for more exciting and challenging lessons or activities for our kids.

—“Supermom” of 5- and 6-year-old children in San Jose, CA

As a kindergarten teacher, I absolutely LOVE ABCmouse! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have so many students that have excelled because I offer it in my class, who otherwise wouldn’t have had the opportunity. ABCmouse is the BEST resource a primary teacher could ever use. You have the seal of approval from this kindergarten teacher/former Teacher of the Year/State Teacher of the Year Finalist.

—Kindergarten teacher in Jacksonville, FL

I’ve had an account for about 6 years now. My granddaughter was only 18 months old when I started. Now she is in 2nd grade and her younger brother in kindergarten. They both play together from time to time. Both kids have gotten a great head start from ABCmouse. My 5-year-old grandson has been reading since age 3 due in large part to ABCmouse.

—Grandmother of 7-year-old girl and 5-year-old boy in Miami, FL

I love how I can review letters, sounds, math skills, and sight words with my students and can give them review lessons for home. Thank you so much for ABCmouse!

—Teacher using ABCmouse for 1,958 days in Peoria, IL

The students in my classes have always enjoyed using ABCmouse to help them learn sight words. I have also seen it help them acquire background knowledge about things they did not know about.

—1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade teacher in Philadelphia, PA

Great video! [Level 10, Activity 23848] I like that you are showing kids tricks for determining author’s purpose. I also like the keywords that you used in the video, including “opinion,“ “expressing feelings,“ etc.

—Mother in Oklahoma City, OK

ABCmouse provides activities that are very engaging! Students love reviewing academics as well as learning songs. I can find materials to reinforce what each of my special education students learn on a daily basis.

—Preschool teacher in Los Angeles, CA

I love ABCmouse and am so thankful. I work in SpEd and this is wonderful for my kids to help with phonics and reading, math … and they can just have fun. My students especially love the songs. Thank you. I use this at school and encourage parents to purchase this for home use.

—Kindergarten teacher in Dallas, TX

ABCmouse is terrific! For my school, I have loaded 9 classes and linked them in various configurations! It’s easy for me as the administrator of the program and easy for students (K-2nd) to navigate! Great site!

—Kindergarten and 1st grade teacher in Spokane, WA

I absolutely love this site. I use it for enrichment with my ESL students and as a center for literacy and math. It is engaging, easy to navigate and one of the best programs that I’ve worked with so far.

Age of Learning Talks Machine Learning and Education at Glendale Tech Week 2017

Age of Learning at Glendale Tech Week

Age of Learning is headquartered in Glendale, California, a vibrant part of the greater Los Angeles area. So we were happy to participate in the recent Glendale Tech Week, the second annual city-sponsored event that brings together top talent from tech companies in and around Glendale.

In a featured event of Tech Week, our SVP of Strategy Sunil Gunderia moderated a discussion that provided a fascinating look at how machine learning and big data are impacting millions of students around the world and creating new professional opportunities. Speakers included Age of Learning’s Director of Data Science and Learning Elizabeth Owen PhD, alongside Armen Toorian, Professor of Robotics and Engineering at Glendale Community College and Mechanical Engineer at Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

The speakers focused on three key themes: How digital learning resources expand access to education, how machine learning can help improve educational outcomes for K–12 students, and how understanding coding can improve students’ job prospects. I’m happy once again to share some of the amazing feedback we’ve received from parents and teachers about our ABCmouse website and apps.

My daughter has been using since she was 2. She’s now 6 and going into 1st grade. She was reading at a 1st grade level in kindergarten and doing math at the 1st grade level!! By the end of the year she was recognizing 2nd grade level words!! The teachers asked if I would allow her to help the other kids learn the math!! I was AMAZED and EXTREMELY PROUD!! This site is AWESOME!!!!

My son is autistic, and we have struggled to find the right educational environment for him. He is limited in a lot of ways, but ABCmouse has been perfect for him. We use it to supplement our other homeschool materials to give him the best foundation we can. He loves it and has done so well with a structured and fun learning environment.

ABCmouse Customer Feedback for June 2017

After a little break from posting customer feedback, I’m happy to post this selection of feedback about award-winning ABCmouse Early Learning Academy that we received in June 2017. This time, however, I’m going to offer some of the amazing and insightful feedback we’ve received from parents and teachers referencing specific ABCmouse learning activities.

The game format, as children of all different skin tones walk through the forest environment toward their camp site, was an engaging way to teach/review the five senses. The integration of forest animal needs and adaptations with the five senses lesson made the whole activity very interesting!

—Mother of an 8-year-old girl in Austin, TX

This is a fantastic activity! I liked how you asked students to fill in the title and label the axis. I also liked how you asked students to move the bars and compare data. Great job on this one!

—Mother in Oklahoma City, OK

This ABCmouse activity was engaging and easy to watch and listen to. The diversity of characters was great for all children to relate to. I liked the game that was inserted within the lesson to teach the characters about the five senses. It was a good idea to relate the senses to the environment where the characters were and indirectly teach the audience as well. The format was great as it didn’t just list the five senses and provide examples; it taught within a story that would leave students wanting to watch and learn throughout the lesson to see the end result.

—Mother of a 7-year-old boy in Atlanta, GA

This ABCmouse activity was a fantastic way to practice sight words AND rhyming words!

—Mother in Oklahoma City, OK

Great example to help with writing. Good use of writing vocabulary. I like the before-and-after example of the child’s writing. I also like how you brought us intonation. We grade on that now.

—Teacher with a 6-year-old child in Los Angeles, CA

I liked the ABCmouse lesson using compound words first, then moving to prefixes and suffixes, and then finally words broken into syllables. For students, this presents more familiar ways of breaking words into smaller words that they can practice and understand. As the words change, students are introduced to harder words, however, if they grasp the concept in the beginning, they will be able to break apart and read any words.

—Mother of a 7-year-old boy in Atlanta, GA

A great way to teach story elements. A great on-level way to break it down and explain how to write a story with all the essential elements and details. All the key vocabulary was used: setting, characters, problem, solution, etc.

—Mother of a 6-year-old girl in Los Angeles, CA
